Studio1405

Studio 1405 has three Bambu printers, two X1 Carbons and one H2D. The X1C’s are the flagship of Bambu’s printers offering reliable single nozzle prints. The H2D is a newer, larger model with a dual-nozzle and a heated chamber. We offer PLA or PETG type filaments. PLA is generally easier to print with but PETG offers better strength, flexibility, and temperature resistance making it better for functional parts and application requiring durability. 

PLA is $.05 per gram and PETG is $.10 per gram. Payment must be made upon pick up, Studio1405 can only process credit/debit card purchases, if paying with cash, you will be given a receipt and pay on the first floor at the Circulation desk and then return to the Studio to pick up your print. If you need an estimated cost prior to printing, please indicate that in your email. 

Studio1405 does not provide model files, free files can be found at makerworld.com, printables.com, and thingiverse.com. TinkerCad can be used for beginners interested in making their own models. It has built-in tutorials and is browser based with a free account. 

To submit a 3D print request, email your .stl or .3mf formatted file to studio staff at studio@pclib.org with a brief description including the size, filament type, color, infill, supports, and any other requirements.

Please allow up to two weeks for your finished print, staff will contact you when it is available for pick up. 

Remember:

• Printing time is limited to Studio1405 open hours, overnight printing is prohibited. Print times over 10 hours will be rejected. 
• Requests are limited to 3 prints at a time, additional requests can be made after prints have been picked up. This includes multiple plates in a file, each plate will be considered a single request and should be submitted separately. 
• Multiple copies of prints will be considered their own request. Any print requiring a duplicate or clone must already contain the duplicate or clone in the model file. 
• Multi-color prints are accepted but must be already in the model file. Multiple colors will increase the cost of print requests. 

Studio1405 has two Cricut Machines, the Cricut Maker 3 and the Cricut Venture. The Cricut Maker 3 can cut, score, write, engrave, and foil over 300 materials. The Cricut Venture is a high speed and large format machine that can cut, score, write, engrave, and foil large designs up to 75 feet and over 100 materials. The Venture is the fasted Cricut machine available. Both use the Cricut Design Space software and all Cricut materials. 

The necessary tools and a limited selection of vinyl material are available for purchase in the Studio. You may bring your own materials for use with the Maker or Venture at no cost, but advance approval is required. 

VHS to DVD Conversion Station

Studio1405 has two multi-media conversion stations. They can transfer VHS to DVD, DVD to digital, snd vinyl and cassette tapes to digital.

You must stay at the station when converting through the duration and be sure format and save conversions appropriately. DVDs can be purchased or you may bring your own. We recommend saving as often as possible. 

Studio1405 has a Glowforge Plus. The Glowforge Plus is a powerful 3D laser cutter and engraver that uses a 40W laser to cut, score, and engrave a vast array of materials. It uses free web based Glowforge Print software. The necessary tools and a limited selection of clear acrylic and wood sheets are available for purchase in the Studio. You may bring your materials for use with the Glowforge Plus but they must be Glowforge Approved Materials. No other materials are allowed to be used with the Glowforge for safety. 

Glowforge Certification is required to schedule appointments to use the Glowforge Plus. Certifications are held quarterly or can be done as a one-on-one appointment with approved Studio Staff members. 

iMac

Studio1405 has two iMac stations. Design, create, and edit with the Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Lightroom, Animate, Audition, Dreamweaver, and Premiere Pro. 

Please note: The iMacs and PCs in Studio1405 shall not be used as additional public computers. Brief use (30 minutes or less) for Adobe Acrobat is allowed if they are not in use, priority will go to patron reservations and those working with the creative software.

Studio1405 has five heat presses for use with various heat transfer projects. A Cricut EasyPress, HeatPress Nation Hat Press, HeatPress Nation Mug Press, HTVRont Auto Press 2, and a HTVRont Mini Press.

Fellowes Saturn 125 Laminator

Studio1405 has a laminator available for use. Sheets of various sizes are available for purchase or you may bring your own. See the Materials Price List for sizing and cost. 

Canon TM-240 Large Format Printer

Studio1405 has a Canon TM-240 large format printer. Create posters, banners, photo prints, and more. Prints up to 24” wide with a maximum resolution of 2400 x 1200 dpi that can create high quality documents and graphics with sharp text and large format sizes. Studio1405 provides one-on-one appointments for additional guidance with projects and equipment. Appointments can last up to 1 hour. Canon Pixma Photo Printer

Studio1405 has a Canon Pixma TS9521CA inkjet photo printer. Create stickers, print photos, or other small format projects with ease and brilliant color. See the materials price list for paper availability and pricing. 

Photo Studio

Studio1405 has a dedicated photo studio space allowing for an array of photography needs. A Canon DSLR is available for use but you are welcome to bring your own camera or use your phone as well. Various tools included but not limited to lighting, tripods, and backgrounds are available for use in the Photo Studio. During certain holidays and events throughout the year, the Studio will have up special backdrops and can schedule brief photo sessions. Photos will be delivered via a Google Drive link. 

Recording Booth

Compose, record, edit and mix a musical project or podcast in an acoustically treated sound booth. Equipped with Pro Tools, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Ableton Live, and GarageBand. Recording equipment is available to use during sessions. Poplar Creek Public Library District cardholders may reserve the Recording Booth for two hour session. Reciprocal Borrowers in good standing may walk in and rent the Recording Booth if it is available for a fee of $25/hr (maximum 2 hours). 

To make a reservation, please call the studio at 331-808-3566. (Please note: Reservations are held for fifteen minutes after the scheduled reserved time. Once the grace period lapses, the Recording Booth becomes available for other walk-ins or reservations. 

Studio1405 has a Brother XM2701 sewing machine and a Brother SE400 embroidery machine. Sew, quilt, or embroider with options of dozens of stitch functions.
