Studio 1405 is the makerspace at the Poplar Creek Public Library where you can learn and use new technologies and equipment. Start a project, finish an old one, meet other makers, learn a new skill or technique and collaborate on projects. Located on the lower level.

Available Equipment and Services
Recording Booth
Compose, record, edit and mix a musical project or podcast in an acoustically treated sound booth. Equipped with Pro Tools, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Ableton Live and Garage Band. Recording equipment is available to use during sessions.
Poplar Creek Public Library District cardholders may reserve the Recording Booth for four-hour sessions at no charge. Reciprocal cardholders may reserve the Recording Booth for two-hour sessions for a fee of $50.
To make a reservation, please call the Studio at 331-808-3566. (Please note: Reservations are held for fifteen minutes after the scheduled reservation time. Once the grace period lapses, the Recording Booth becomes available for other walk-ins or reservations.)
iMac Lab
Design and create with Adobe Creative Cloud. Includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Lightroom, Animate, Audition, Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro.
Photo Sessions
During certain holidays and events throughout the year, the Studio will take your photos in front of our seasonal backdrops. Patrons will receive the digital photos after the session via Google Drive. Call 331-808-3566 to inquire further or schedule an appointment.
Sewing Machines
Sew, quilt, or embroider with our Brother XM2701 sewing machine or Brother SE400 embroidery machine. Both machines offer dozens of stitch functions.
Virtual Reality Equipment
Schedule an appointment to reserve our Oculus Quest and Quest 2 virtual reality headsets for in-studio gaming sessions.
3D Printer
To get an object printed on our 3D printers, bring your 3D file (.STL format preferred) to the Studio (via USB drive, emailing it to yourself, etc.), then ask for staff assistance with "slicing" the file and generating a G-code.
- Print requests: Patrons may request up to 3 prints. Patrons are limited to up to 3 active print requests at a time. Patrons must pick up completed prints before submitting additional requests.
- Printing time is limited to open hours of Studio1405, as overnight printing is prohibited. Requests with a print time of over 10 hours will be rejected.
- Payment:
- PLA filament cost: $0.05 per gram of printed item's weight.
- Patrons may provide payment when they visit the library to pick up their prints. Patrons should visit Studio1405 on the lower level to receive a receipt slip. They will then need to visit the circulation desk on the main level to provide payment.
Digital Conversions
Using our multi-media conversion stations, transfer VHS tapes to DVDs or digitize vinyl records and cassette tapes.
Cricut (vinyl cutter)
Use our Cricut Maker 3 or Explore Air 2 to create! Patrons may reserve the machines by calling 331-808-3566 or submitting a request through this form. The machines are otherwise available on a walk-in basis unless a conflicting reservation exists.
Studio1405 provides cutting mats and various tools to use with the Cricut machines. All other materials must be provided by the patron and are not available for purchase at the Studio.
Laminator
Seal and protect documents and business cards. For a full list of materials and their prices please see our Materials and Price List.
Glowforge
Cut various materials using the Glowforge Plus laser cutter. At this time, we are requiring patrons to first attend a "Glowforge Certification" program before using the equipment. These classes are offered monthly. Please check our Program Calendar to view and register for programs.
Guidelines of Use
Anyone can visit Studio 1405, however, there are some things you should know before coming:
- Patrons under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult while in the Studio.
- To use the recording studio equipment, you must first receive an orientation and sign our liability waiver.
