Loan Periods & Limits
The Poplar Creek Public Library District circulates most items for 21 days with two renewals available, providing there are no holds on the items. Items are automatically renewed if there are no holds on the items. For more information, please see our Loan Period Policy.
Responsibility for Library Materials
If materials are kept past the due date, patrons will be sent notices regarding overdue items. After an item is 28 days overdue, it is considered lost; please expect to pay the replacement cost of the materials. If the item is an Interlibrary Loan the cost of the item and processing fee as determined by the owning library will be charged. Payment of fines and fees may be paid by cash, check, or credit card.
Patrons may sign up for the following courtesy notices:
- Hold pickups
- Hold cancellations
- Coming due
- Overdue
- Billing

Reciprocal Borrowing
Poplar Creek Public Library cards may be used at most public libraries throughout the state of Illinois. Reciprocal borrowers may need to register their PCPLD at the library they are visiting. Each library may have collections, items, or services not available to reciprocal borrowers, so we suggest calling a public library to confirm any details before your visit to avoid any disappointment.
