By authority of the Board of Library Trustees, sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m., prevailing time, on January 12, 2018, by the Board of Library Trustees of the Poplar Creek Public Library District for the Glass Wall Installation Project. Any bids received after 2:00 p.m. will not be accepted. The project consists of installing multiple infill storefront systems throughout the library. Work will include (but not limited to) selective demolition of existing partitions and finishes, installation of storefront systems, minor finish work, minor HVAC ductwork modifications, selective HVAC rebalancing, and minor electrical modifications.
Responses shall be submitted in duplicate on or before the specified closing time in an opaque sealed envelope marked as noted within the Bidding Documents on the outside and addressed to: Debra Stombres, Executive Director, Poplar Creek Public Library. Responses are to be mailed or hand delivered to the Poplar Creek Public Library, 1405 South Park Avenue, Streamwood, IL 60107.
A mandatory pre-bid will be held on January 4, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at the Poplar Creek Public Library, 1405 South Park Avenue, Streamwood, IL 60107.
Bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check made payable to the Board of Library Trustees, of Poplar Creek Public Library equal to 10% of the base bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, and Certificate of Insurance will be required from the successful bidder.
The Board of Library Trustees of the Poplar Creek Public Library reserves the right to reject any or all documents submitted or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in the prequalification procedures and to approve trade contractors and vendors to bid in a manner serving the interest of the Poplar Creek Public Library.
All bidders must comply with the applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages, and bidders must comply with the Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor and bidding, including Equal Opportunity Laws.
